Free cancer medicines are not available in KP hospitals, patients started leaving the treatment incomplete

 

Free cancer medicines are not available in major hospitals of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since last 6 months.

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provides free treatment and treatment facilities to patients through health cards, but for the last 6 months, only cancer medicines are available in the 3 major hospitals of the province, Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar, Hayatabad Medical Complex and Khyber Teaching Hospital. are not available

Patients also say that they are already facing financial difficulties and are buying monthly payments of Rs 25,000 from above.

In this regard, Dr. Mohammad Tariq, Head of Oncology Department of Khyber Teaching Hospital, while talking to Geonews, said that PC-1 for free medicines was supposed to be approved in July, which has not been approved yet. It didn't happen.Dr. Tariq says that due to the non-availability of free medicines, cancer patients leave the treatment incomplete because cancer treatment costs from 20 thousand to 2 lakh rupees per month.
